Reverse Martini

Reverse Martini

A vermouth-forward take on the Martini.

While many modern Martinis skew strong and boozy, vermouth has long played a bigger role in the cocktail, sharing equal billing with gin in the now-familiar 50:50 Martinis, or in topsy-turvy approaches like the Reverse Martini recipe. “We’re back in the elegance of the Martini, where it’s not just about the spirit,” says Meaghan Dorman. At the Gin Room in St. Louis, Natasha Bahrami agrees. “When you serve a Reverse Martini, you’re still showing off the gin, but you’re creating a more joyous, lighthearted, and fun Martini that you could have a couple of!” she says.

  • 1 dash orange bitters
  • Tools:mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
