An oceanic-savory winter martini.
Looking to create a Martini for wintertime sipping, Harrison Ginsburg and Chris Buono of New York’s Overstory created this intriguing Martini variation. “The Dashi Martini’s oceanic, savory notes make it the quintessential winter cocktail,” says Ginsberg.
Stir all of the ingredients together in a mixing glass with ice, strain into a chilled glass, and garnish.
Dashi-Infused Dry Vermouth Place the nori sheet in the dry vermouth and let steep at room temperature for 10 minutes. Stir and continue to steep for another 10 minutes. Using a cheesecloth, strain out the nori while pouring the infused dry vermouth into a bottle. The dashi-infused vermouth will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
