At Imbibe 75 Place to Watch Lucky Cheetah in Portland, Maine, bar manager Ben Bozeman adds MSG to his Old Fashioned twist for a touch of savoriness and a rounder mouthfeel. “[MSG is] a favorite ingredient of mine, and it gets a bad rap for some pretty bad reasons,” he says. “But it really enhances all the best flavors in classic Asian dishes … all savory food for that matter. Cocktails, too, as it turns out!”
Add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir to chill. Strain into the glass. Garnish.
