Offshore Account: A Stirred Agave Cocktail

As the season transitions to autumn, no need to leave agave spirits behind in margarita summer. Blake Antrobus, bar lead at Beverly Hills’ La Dolce Vita, created this stirred agave cocktail for sipping. “The dried fruit and spices form the backbone of the cocktail and are highlighted by the aged tequila, cream sherry, and bitters,” he says. “Finally, the mezcal brings a special depth with smoke and minerality.”

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. reposado tequila
  • 3/4 oz. cream sherry
  • 1/2 oz. espadin mezcal
  • 1 barspoon agave nectar
  • 1 dash aromatic bitters
  • Grapefruit peel
  • Tools:mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
  • Glass:rocks

Preparation

Add the first 4 ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir to chill and strain into the glass over ice. Add a dash of bitters, express a grapefruit peel, and discard.
