Fluffy Lemonade The Apparatus Room at Detroit Foundation Hotel

One ingredient transforms basic lemonade into a creamy, rich drink.

By adding condensed milk to basic lemonade, Petr Balcarovsky, lead bartender of The Apparatus Room in Detroit, created a deliciously rich Brazilian lemonade, which he calls fluffy lemonade. The milk “brings a full mouthfeel that may resemble an experience of an Italian cream soda or a citrus-sicle with a balanced amount of richness,” Balcarovsky says.

Ingredients

  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:collins
  • Garnish:thyme sprig and lemon twist

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake to chill. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with crushed ice. Garnish.
