Frozen Spicy Mango Cocktail

A NOLA Jazz Fest cult classic gets a glowup.

Andrea Leibrandt, bar manager of Mister Mao in New Orleans, gives Jazz Fest cult classic, the Mango Freeze, a glowup by transforming the simple scoop of mango sorbet into a frozen spicy mango cocktail. Mango sorbet is blended with mango and yuzu liqueurs, rum, and lime juice and spiced with chamoy and tajín.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. white rum
  • 1 oz. mango liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. yuzu liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 scoop mango sorbet
  • Tools:blender
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:chamoy and tajín

Preparation

Drip the inside rim of the glass with chamoy. Add all of the ingredients to a blender, add ice as needed, and blend for 30 seconds or until smooth. Pour into the prepared glass and sprinkle with tajín.
