Blue Jay

Paper Plane was featured as one of Imbibe’s 2013 Places to Watch list in the Jan/Feb 2013 “Imbibe 75” issue. Here, two Italian amaros meet with a bright splash of citrus in this beer-topped refresher.

1 oz. Amaro Cio Ciaro
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. Fernet Branca syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
3 oz. pale ale
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: Collins

Combine all ingredients, except beer, and shake with ice. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass and top with beer.
