A whisk(e)y cocktail for the holidays.
Layered with hints of chocolate, orange, and spice, this cocktail from Dutch Kills head bartender Matty Clark is holiday spirit in a glass. “The scotch leaves a nice fireplace note on the finish,” says Clark. “It checks all those boxes for the Old Fashioned–style cocktail you want to drink on a snowy night.”
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 oz. bourbon
- 3⁄8 oz. smoky single malt scotch (Clark uses Laphroaig 10-year-old)
- 1⁄4 oz. crème de cacao
- 1⁄4 oz. allspice liqueur
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Tools:barspoon
- Glass:Old Fashioned
- Garnish:lemon twist
Preparation
Combine all of the ingredients in an Old Fashioned glass, then add ice and stir to chill. Garnish.
