Amazake Swizzle nonalcoholic Austin Hennelly

A full-flavored spirit-free swizzle.

The inventive no-alcohol Amazake Swizzle from 2023 Imbibe 75 Person to Watch Austin Hennelly is just one example of the many next-level spirit-free drinks the bartender is creating at Los Angeles’ Kato Restaurant.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. swizzle batch
  • 1 oz. orgeat (Hennelly uses Small Hand Foods)
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. chinotto soda
  • ______________________
  • swizzle batch
  • 32 oz. chai concentrate
  • 27 oz. (2 cans) coconut milk
  • 14.4 oz. amazake (Hennelly uses Hakkaisan)
  • Tools:swizzle stick or barspoon
  • Glass:collins or double rocks
  • Garnish:lime zest and grated nutmeg

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients except the chinotto soda to the glass. Add crushed ice to cover the liquid and swizzle or stir to chill and integrate the ingredients. Add more crushed ice and insert a straw. Float the chinotto soda evenly over the top and top with more crushed ice. Garnish.

Swizzle Batch Add all of the swizzle batch ingredients to a large vessel that can seal and mix together. It will keep in the refrigerator for a week.
