Aged spirits snag a starring role in this cocktail from Leyenda in Brooklyn.
¾ oz. whiskey
¾ oz. Spanish brandy
½ oz. dark rum
½ oz. guava syrup (1:1 simple syrup to guava purée)
Scant ¾ oz. Donn’s Mix (2:1 grapefruit juice to cinnamon syrup)
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
Peychaud’s bitters
Tools: swizzle stick
Glass: Collins
Garnish: mint sprig
Combine all the ingredients in a Collins glass and fill halfway with crushed ice. Swizzle until combined. Add more crushed ice to fill the glass. Float the bitters on top and garnish.
