Vote for your favorite bartender in this year’s Charleston Wine + Food Cocktail Competition!

Imbibe is excited to support Charleston Wine + Food’s 2018 Official Cocktail Competition! For this year’s festivities, bartenders from the Charleston area were invited to submit an original cocktail featuring American whiskey. In October, a panel of judges selected the top 10 cocktails, and now it’s your time to vote!

HERE’S THE PLAY BY PLAY

PEOPLE’S CHOICE
Date: Thursday, November 1, 2018 – Friday, November 30, 2018
Who: 10 semi-finalists, submissions with the highest scores from Round 1
Place: Semi-Finalists’ Bars/Restaurants

The 10 semi-finalists will feature their cocktail at their restaurant/bar allowing people to enjoy their recipe and cast a vote in its favor via the voting poll below. The People’s Choice results will be factored into scoring for the next round of judging. Points will be awarded for the People’s Choice winner, first runner up and second runner up. These points will act as a “boost” in the final tasting round where a panel of judges will sample all 10 cocktails.

JUDGES’ TASTING
Date: First Week of December
Who: 10 semi-finalists
Place: Charleston Wine + Food Headquarters, 635 Rutledge Ave., Ste. 101, Charleston
Time: Time slots will be communicated to Semi-finalists
Portions: A total of 4 fully prepared cocktails for judges

This will be a tasting before four judges. Each competitor will present his/her cocktail within a 15-minute time slot. Semi-finalist will present their cocktail and recipe card to the judges. Each entry will be judged based on the following categories: aroma, appearance, taste, imagination, overall impression and points for People’s Choice. The top 4 competitors with the highest score will be announced that night with the winner crowned as the official 2019 Cocktail Competition winner.

The winner will receive a $500 cash prize and a feature on imbibemagazine.com. Plus, the cocktail will be named the official drink of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival and will be served at the Opening-Night party.
