Drink of the Week: Lo-Fi Dry Vermouth

An essential to any back bar, dry vermouth is a star in classics like the Martini and a supporting actor in countless other cocktails. European vermouths enjoy much of the spotlight, but across the pond, Lo-Fi is continually earning fanfare for its California-made vermouths.

Founded in 2016, Lo-Fi offers three expressions, including a gentian amaro, sweet vermouth and dry vermouth. With Martinis on our minds lately (courtesy of our May/June 2025 Martini Issue), we’re keen to find dry vermouths that lend a distinctive character while pairing seamlessly with gin, and Lo-Fi’s dry vermouth does just that.

Lo-Fi places a high value on transparency—stating that what’s on the label is in the bottle. Its vermouth is produced with California wines and infused with herbs and botanicals with no artificial flavors or artificial sweeteners added. The dry vermouth’s character is crisp and clean with layers of citrus and floral notes and a hint of spice, perfect for a 50/50 Martini. Head to lofiaperitifs.com to find a bottle near you.
