Kilbeggan, one of Ireland’s oldest whiskey distilleries, has turned its attention to the single grain whiskey canon for its latest release. Made with a mixed mash of 94 percent corn and 6 percent malted barley, aged in both ex-bourbon barrels and various fortified wine barrels, this autumn-ready Single Grain is as smooth as it gets. Launched stateside over the summer, it carries a sweet nose of coconut and vanilla and heats up with nutty notes and a warming spice on the palate.
