Fall Bourbon Cocktail: The Founding Father from Order of Ace

The perfect sipper for a crisp autumn night.

Baltimore’s Order of Ace combines the fall flavors of corn, nuts, and baking spices in an aromatic bourbon cocktail. Taking its booze-forward inspiration from an Old Fashioned and Manhattan, it’s the perfect sipper to enjoy during a crisp autumn night.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. bourbon
  • 3/4 oz. Spanish vermouth
  • 3/4 oz. Nixta corn liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. Oaxacan rum
  • 3/4 tsp. crème de noyaux (or amaretto)
  • 3 drops saline solution
  • Tools:mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
  • Glass:rocks
  • Garnish:caramel corn

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir to chill. Strain into the glass. Garnish.
NOTEIf you can’t find an Oaxacan rum with a vegetal profile, like Cañada or Tso’ok, drink creator Mark Mentzel suggests using a corn-based white dog, such as Buffalo Trace Mash #1 or Stillhouse Original.
