Salted toffee notes create a decadent take on a modern classic.
Thanks to PX sherry and salted demerara syrup, Bar Americano’s decadent take on the Espresso Martini “has notes that resemble salted toffee … and a darker than usual roasted flavor from the Borghetti Espresso Liqueur,” says Steve Kämmerer of New York’s Bar Americano.
Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass. Garnish.
Diluted Cold-Brew ConcentrateMix cold-brew concentrate (or equivalent) with water at a 60:40 ratio.
Salted Demerara SyrupAdd 2 1/2 cups of cold water, 4 cups of demerara sugar, and 2 3/4 Tbsp. of Maldon sea salt to a pot. Stir at medium/high temperature until mixed and reach 140F. Remove from the heat, let cool, store in the fridge. Will keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 30 days.
