Oaxaca Old Fashioned riff by The Ordinary

A spirit-forward sipper that lives up to its name.

For his take on the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, The Ordinary bartender Dalton Bedard, combines aged tequila and scotch to complement the richness of cold-brew coffee and chocolate mole. The result is a sipper that lives up to its name.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 oz. reposado tequila
  • 3/4 oz. cold-brew agave syrup
  • 1/4 oz. scotch
  • 3 dashes chocolate mole bitters
  • lemon peel
  • Tools:mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
  • Glass:Old Fashioned
  • Garnish:3 espresso beans

Preparation

Add all of the ingredients, except the lemon peel, to a mixing glass and stir for about 25 seconds. Strain over a large cube. Express and discard a lemon peel over the top. Garnish.
Cold-Brew Agave SyrupAdd 1/4 cup of raw agave nectar to 3/4 cup of dark roast cold-brew coffee and stir to combine. Will keep in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
