Tropical fruit, chamomile, and a bit of poblano are the antidote to summer heat.
For a playful and refreshing summer cocktail, mix up this chamomile cocktail by bartender Daegan Burchfield of Dallas restaurant, Rye. In it, guanabana, a tropical fruit that tastes like a combination of pineapple and strawberry, is given an extra dimension of heat from the chile liqueur while chamomile brightens up the drink.
Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker. Shake and double strain over ice into the glass. Garnish.
Chamomile-Infused VodkaAdd 7-9 bags of chamomile tea (or 19 grams of loose leaf chamomile tea) to 750ml vodka and let steep for 24 hours, then strain the tea from the vodka. The chamomile vodka will hold on the shelf just like a bottle of vodka and does not need to be refrigerated.
