Watermelon and mint are a natural pair when it comes to taking the edge off hot summer days. Add a little kick of jalapeño, and you’ve got yourself a fun new flavor combo.

2 cups cold water
2 cups watermelon (rind removed), seeded and chopped
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
½ squeezed lime or 1 Tbsp. juice
¼ cup mint leaves
½ jalapeño, roughly chopped
Ice cubes or crushed ice (optional)
Tools: blender or food processor, strainer, pitcher
Glass: collins
Garnish: watermelon wedge

Combine all of the ingredients and purée until smooth. Pour the mixture through a strainer into a pitcher, forcing through most of the pulp. Chill and serve on ice.
