Black Tap Coffee’s Black Julep Recipe

Aromatic mint and sweet, gooey honey dance with the chocolate and toffee notes of espresso in this excellent iced coffee riff from Black Tap Coffee in Charleston.

1 shot espresso
5-6 mint sprigs
2 tsp. honey
Tools: muddler, strainer
Glass: rocks or julep
Garnish: fresh mint sprigs

Muddle mint and honey in a shaker. Add espresso and swirl together until the honey dissolves. Add ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into a glass over crushed ice and garnish.
