Named after Martin Scorsese’s seminal film of 1973, this cocktail combines classic Italian and American spirits with fresh lemon for a potent sipper that's anything but unkind.
1 1/2 oz. sambuca 1/2 oz rye whiskey (Laszlo uses Rittenhouse 100) Half a lemon, cut into quarters Ice cubes Crushed ice Tools: muddler, shaker, strainer Glass: rocks Garnish: lemon twist and fresh mint sprig
Muddle lemon quarters in a shaking tin. Add sambuca and ice cubes and shake. Strain into crushed ice-filled rocks glass and float rye whiskey over the top. Garnish.
