Bourbon and kombucha make for some delicious hooch in this Boilermaker-esque cocktail from Olympia, Washington bartender Ted Kwo.
2 oz. bourbon
4 oz. kombucha (Kwo uses Magic Kombucha)
1 dash of fresh ginger juice
Ice cubes
Tools: barspoon
Glass: double Old Fashioned
Garnish: lemon wedge
Pour bourbon and kombucha into an ice-filled glass and stir gently to combine. Top with a dash of fresh ginger juice (see tip, below) and garnish.
To easily extract ginger juice for one cocktail, simply slice a coin-sized wheel from a piece of fresh ginger root and using a clean garlic press, gently squeeze it into the drink.
