Left Hand / Right Hand Cocktail

Left Hand / Right Hand

Two iconic Boulevardier riffs from Milk & Honey.

Before there was Attaboy there was Milk & Honey, the influential cocktail bar where Sam Ross (Left Hand) and Michael McIlroy (Right Hand) made these companion cocktails around 2005 as part of a “Hand” family. Simple takes on the Boulevardier, these cocktails tapped the flavor power of the then-new mole chocolate bitters.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. bourbon (for the Left Hand) or aged rum (for the Right Hand)
  • 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth
  • 3/4 oz. Campari
  • 2 dashes mole chocolate bitters
  • Tools:barspoon, strainer
  • Glass:coupe (Left Hand) or rocks (Right Hand)
  • Garnish:cherry (Left Hand) or orange twist (Right Hand)

Preparation

Stir all of the ingredients with ice, then, for the Left Hand, strain into a chilled coupe and garnish. For the Right Hand, strain into a rocks glass over a large cube (or optionally serve up), and garnish.
