A medley of warm spices defines this cold-brew cocktail from The Last Word in Ann Arbor, Michigan. “The chocolate notes in the coffee are a natural pairing for the caraway found in aquavit, and the floral undertones of the amaro bring out the balance of aquavit’s supporting botanicals,” says bartender Joseph Glashauser.
1 oz. aquavit (Glashauser uses Norden)
1 oz. Amaro Meletti
¾ oz. cold-brew coffee
2 dashes Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla bitters
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Glass: coupe or cocktail
Garnish: dehydrated lemon peel (or fresh)
Stir all of the ingredients with ice for around 30 seconds, then strain into chilled glass and garnish.
