This punch tastes sweet and spicy, with hints of licorice and a slightly bitter finish. If you want to make a low-ABV version, just skip the whiskey.
1½ cups Velvet Falernum
¾ cup Bonal Gentiane Quina
¾ cup Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
¾ cup rye or bourbon (optional)
¾ cup sparkling water
12 dashes black walnut bitters
Garnish: maraschino cherries and star anise pod
Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to combine. Fill 6 glasses with crushed ice and evenly divide the drink among them. Garnish each drink with 2 cherries and a star anise. Serve immediately. Serves 6.
