Spruce Goose from The Snug

the snugTrevor Easter calls this drink a “total Mister Potato Head cocktail,” because the combination of sherry, orgeat, cucumber and absinthe works with almost any base spirit. Try swapping in tequila or Scotch for the gin, and taste the magic for yourself.

1½ oz. London Dry gin
½ oz. amontillado sherry
¾ oz. orgeat
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
3 dashes absinthe
3 cucumber wheels
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: stemmed beer
Garnish: cucumber ribbon

Muddle the cucumber wheels in the bottom of a shaker tin. Add the remaining ingredients with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a stemmed beer glass over crushed ice. Garnish.
