Sweet tea brings an extra helping of Southern hospitality to this fresh mint julep hybrid.

With the same mint and bourbon combo of a traditional mint julep, this patio-ready riff brings another Southern staple into the mix—sweet tea.

Ingredients

Yield:6
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 3 cups cold sweetened tea
  • Tools:muddler
  • Glass:mason jar or rocks glass
  • Garnish:fresh mint sprigs, lemon and lime slices

Preparation

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a 2-quart pitcher. Muddle until the mint is slightly bruised. Stir in the bourbon and tea. Serve over ice. Garnish, if desired.
