Drink of the Week: Kibo Saké

kibo sakeThe name of today’s Drink of the Week translates to “hope” in Japanese, and for good reason. In 2011, the Suisen Shuzo Saké Brewery was destroyed by the earthquake and tsuami that devastated Japan. Over the next year, the brewery was rebuilt and the company began producing saké again. Their Kibo Saké is a junmai saké full of traditional melon flavors and a smooth mouthfeel, and unlike most sakés, it comes in a clever little can, making it perfectly portable. Available in 25 states, including most major metropolitan areas.
