Drink of the Week: Francois Motand Brut Rosé

rose-featured imageOne of our favorite things about Negroni Week is watching bartenders come up with creative riffs on the Negroni. This year, we’ve seen some great coffee infusions (like in the Red Eye Negroni and the Sailor’s Negroni), and some recipes incorporating beer, like the Rad Negroni, Bro. Another trend we’re seeing is the inclusion of sparkling rosé, like in the Rosé Negroni from Spilt Milk in Chicago. For this recipe, bartender Tyler Fry uses Francois Motand Brut Rosé, a wine made in the classic Champagne method. The blend of black Grenache and Cinsault is crisp and effervescent with bursts of fresh raspberry and subtle hints of dark brown sugar and vanilla. $13, crownwineandspirits.com
