Drink of the Week: Allegro Coffee Café Vitale

café vitale

With the average age of the world’s coffee producers climbing, Colorado’s Allegro Coffee is placing a priority on boosting young farmers in the field. For Café Vitale, their new limited-edition blend, Allegro donated $10,000 to Coffee Kids, an organization committed to collaborative training, mentorship and financial assistance for the next generation of farmers. Available through the end of this year, the light-medium roast features beans sourced from two regions invested in supporting emerging growers: Doi Pangkhon in northern Thailand, where the average age of coffee farmers ranges between 25-35, and Colombia’s Risaralda area, a longstanding coffee-growing region where Coffee Kids has established youth groups to assist young people with setting up businesses and connecting to the global coffee industry. Matching a balanced brightness with whiffs of campfire and chocolate, Café Vitale makes for a perfectly wintry cup. $13.99, allegrocoffee.com
