A play on the traditional Blood and Sand cocktail, this variation from The Bellwether gets an extra citrusy boost from orange infused-Scotch.
1 oz. orange-infused scotch
¾ oz. sweet vermouth (Bellwether uses Carpano Antica)
¾ oz. Cherry Heering
¼ oz. fresh orange juice
Tools: shaker, strainer
Garnish: orange peel
Shake all the ingredients together in a shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish.
Orange-Infused Scotch: Add 4 ounces of orange zest to 6 cups of Scotch and let sit for 4 days. Strain the zest out of the whiskey before use.
