A variation on the Old Pal, this cocktail “offers the best balance of its ingredients and flavors,” says bartender Tyler Dow.
1 1/2 oz. rye whiskey
3/4 oz. Maurin Quina
3/4 oz. dry vermouth
2 dashes orange bitters
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Garnish: lemon peel
Combine all ingredients, including ice, and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish.
