Your Ultimate Portland Central Eastside Bar Crawl

One of Portland’s strangest and most confusing intersections is also a hub of excellent spots to stop for a drink. Start the crawl with an afternoon pint at Base Camp, or on a more elegant note at Clay Pigeon urban winery, or go for broke and start off at southeast Portland’s favorite dive bar, The Slammer Tavern. Ring in last call a block down the street with a perfectly made Daiquiri at the Rum Club. We’ve put together the ultimate southeast industrial district bar-crawl—please enjoy responsibly.

Base Camp
Base Camp’s creative brews and classic pub fare make for a perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Try their Alpenglow Session Ale—its 4.4% ABV makes it the perfect bar-crawl pint.

Cyril’s at Clay Pigeon Winery
Another excellent option for both food and drink, Cyril’s serves a small, thoughtful menu of simple, rustic fare, well-selected wines and has one of the best cheese counters in the city.

The Slammer
A Portland classic, this family-owned dive bar embraces thirsty imbibers with its friendly service, cheap drinks and perpetually Christmas-lit glow.

Rum Club (pictured)
This industry hang-out and overall excellent bar pours some of the city’s best cocktails, from their secret-recipe Rum Club Daiquiri to the at once rich and refreshing Fino Countdown, with sherry, rum, lemon and bitters.

Kachka
Kachka is a temple of all things Russian. Enjoy vodka and caviar or indulge in funky cocktails like the Pass the Kvassier, with brandy, kvass and orange.

Dig a Pony
A fun, lively bar with great food, drink, DJs and (often) dancing where, as the website announces, you can “celebrate anything you want.”
