Named after Martin Scorsese’s seminal film of 1973, this cocktail combines classic Italian and American spirits with fresh lemon for a potent sipper that’s anything but unkind.
1 1/2 oz. sambuca
1/2 oz rye whiskey
Half a lemon, cut into quarters
Tools: muddler, shaker, strainer
Garnish: lemon twist and fresh mint sprig
Muddle the lemon quarters in a shaking tin. Add the sambuca and ice and shake. Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice and float rye whiskey over the top. Garnish.
