Perfectly ripe strawberries bring sweet and tart elements to this southern-inspired cocktail. Lemon juice and ginger beer add plenty of zing and a bit of honey syrup ties it all together. A porch swing in a glass.
2 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. honey syrup (1:1 honey and water)
2 small strawberries
Tools: shaker, strainer
Garnish: lemon wheel, strawberry
Muddle the strawberries and lemon juice in a shaker tin. Add the whiskey and honey syrup. Shake and double strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish.
