Season's Drinking

Ready for some holiday entertaining? Here are 8 seasonal cocktails perfect for every gathering.

And to All a Good Night

This warming cocktail makes a great digestif. To balance the spiciness, try using a sweeter bourbon, such as Maker's Mark.

Gin Punch

The talented duo behind New York City’s ever-popular Employees Only offer up this reworked, Jerry Thomas classic in their book, Speakeasy: Classic Cocktails Reimagined From New York’s Employees Bar.

Limoncello Sparkler

A bottle of bubbly livens up just about any occasion, and this springy sparkling cocktail gets an added dose of sweetness and sun thanks to a splash of limoncello.

Sangre de Cristo

The crew at Boston’s Hungry Mother knows a thing or two about serving large crowds in small spaces, so they created a holiday cocktail that requires no shaking, stirring or fancy techniques. It’s a play on that spiced holiday standby, mulled wine. It’s also low in alcohol, with a vermouth and wine base.

Spiced Pear Punch

Ginger and pears are a classic wintry duo, and here they become the base for a delicious sparkling punch.

The Brown Turkey (pictured)

One bite of savory fig stuffing served at a holiday feast and Justin Chamberlin knew he’d found his next cocktail inspiration. This formula combines the subtle spices of aged rum with the sultry sweetness of figs and a bright pop of sparkling wine.

Tradditional Wassail

Wassail is a traditional part of English Christmas celebrations, dating back to the 13th century. There are a myriad of recipes, but this more traditional recipe comes from Carla Bardi’s The Silver Book of Cocktails.

Winter Julep

This delicious cocktail from Atlanta bartender Lara Creasy is a cinch to make and makes for the ultimate winter warmer.
